AUCKLAND (Dow Jones)-New Zealand's opposition is staking its long-shot election hopes on tarring Prime Minister John Key's government with an unpopular plan to sell stakes in state-owned companies.

2. Tiger Airways names new Australia ops CEO

SINGAPORE -(MarketWatch)- Tiger Airways Ltd. (J7X.SG) said Monday that it has appointed Andrew David, former Chief Operating Officer at Virgin Blue (VBA.AU), as the new Chief Executive of its Australian operations.

David's post is effective Oct. 17 and he replaces Tony Davis, who leaves the low-cost carrier Nov. 1 to take up a new role outside the company.

Prior to his role at Virgin Blue, David held various management roles at Air New Zealand (AIR.NZ).
